Located about 50 km from the city of Bandung, West Java, The White Crater is a one of the main tourist attraction of the city. This volcano crater consists of a beautiful whitish-colored sand due to the presence of natural sulphur. The lake itself is mesmerising with its whitish-green colour that may sometimes change to a slightly bluish colour. The place often is foggy as it is located in a mountain of high altitude, about 2090m above the sea level. As a unique and magnificent place, many couples often have their pre-wedding photoshoot at the location. Furthermore, the place offers many distinctive Bandung delicacies such as freshly harvested strawberries and other traditional snacks. Nevertheless, there are many merchandise shops that sell sulphur in bottles as it is traditionally believed to be able to relieve many skin problems. Warnings have been given by the government to be alert of certain changes that may happen to the volcanic crater, such as the emission of poisonous gas or a sudden increase in the temperature of the lake. Despite this, the place remains a favourite, must-to-go tourist attraction when one visits the city of Bandung.
