Romanesque and Gothic castle, with extensive intervention in the 20th century. It is of polygonal plan, with a strong defensive system surrounding the central stronghold where the Paço Real, a Gothic construction, whose "loggia" dominates the city, the Church of Pena, only nave and chancel with polygonal apse and the Prismatic Torre de Menagem, topped by square merlons and topped by a terrace. At the beginning of its construction it constituted a castle of penetration in enemy territory. The old fence of the village still keeps traces of the "first" city of Leiria inside and is visible in almost all its initial extension.
