「浦來」是寶來的舊稱，原是鄒族原住民居住的聚落。「戰道」則是日治時期，日軍為控制原住民的抗日行動，沿著美瓏山稜線而修築的道路。浦來溪頭社戰道位在高雄市六龜區荖濃溪與寶來溪分水嶺上，全長約3公里，全程環繞著產業道路和果園，步行時間約1小時。沿著梅林小徑走在山腰與山稜線上，可以飽覽寶來溪、荖濃溪匯流和交織的山嵐景致。
