汕尾堤防位於林園區高屏溪出海口，當颱風過境，大批從高屏溪上游漂流而下的木材，隨即佈滿汕尾堤防、中芸漁港及汕尾漁港，造成漁航道淤積之現象，清淤作業長達數月，漁民深受其苦，後以纜索阻隔漂流木入港，降低災後損失，成效頗佳。大小漂流木堆砌綿延數里，映襯著藍天白雲，形成另類壯觀美景。
