北市场地区地处沈阳市和平区北部，东以北三经街为界和沈河区相望，南以市府大路为界与遂川街道相邻，西以南京北街为界与西塔街道办事处相连，北以哈尔滨路为界与北道口街道办事处相接。

北市场皇寺路是沈阳最负盛名的旅游黄金走廊，其传统文脉和老城故事激荡百年，实盛寺、锡伯族家庙、满洲省委旧址、基督教堂、老北站……，吸引着无数中外游人流连望返，临街矗立的中国当代第一石雕——过街牌坊和中国当代第一铸铜像——清代十二帝王雕塑，气势恢弘，令人神往。
