「淡水紅樓」因有著殖民地式紅磚建築的外觀，因而得名，始建於1895年，於1899年竣工，曾經過數次改建，還從紅樓變成黃樓，但在2000年後代屋主整修後，又回復其紅樓之外觀，並改成紅樓餐廳。

雖不是政府所核定的古蹟，但是觀察各期興建改造歷史，可以說是象徵了黃金淡水的繁華，更見證了淡水一世紀以來的發展。
