亿载金城位在安平区南端，为昔日二鲲鯓之地，俗称大炮台，是清末为加强海防而筑的工事之一。建于清光绪2年（1876年），为台湾第一座西式炮台，直到1975年炮台创建100周年，台南市政府重加修葺，才恢复昔日旧观，现已列属一级古迹。
