鬼門闗：

      鬼門関按照宗教的说法，人死后灵魂都要到阴曹地府，到阴曹地府都要过奈何桥、鬼門関、黄泉路，怕是如此，不怕也是如此。鬼門関既是人死后通往阴间的必经之路，也是检验人在世时善恶的关口。

      鬼門関前有新刻的十六大鬼立于两边，传说是阎罗王专门挑选的一批恶鬼来此镇山把关的。它们是:

      罗刹鬼、伥鬼、夜叉鬼、淘气鬼、欲色鬼、劈山鬼、千眼鬼、揽火鬼、 驻海鬼、疾行鬼、食气鬼、食蔓鬼、食肉鬼、阎罗执杖、才鬼、靈鬼。

The Gate of Hell:

      It is said that the Gate of Hell is the entrance for ghost of a dead person to enter the underworld after death, Entering the Gate of Hell is entering the underworld. The Gate of Hell is ghastly frightening, as a group of evil ghosts are guarding there. With a guide, a kind person can safely pass the gate, while an evil person will undertake harsh questioning, and be sent to Retribution Palace for interrogation and the punishment in hell.
