天元宮是道教廟觀，內有無極天元宮及無極真元天壇，其中真元天壇仿中國天壇的圓形建築，樓高五層，外觀直徑達108公尺，十分壯觀。近年來因庭院中種植整片櫻花，每到春日盛開時節爭奇鬥豔，成為賞櫻勝地。以臺灣原生種山櫻花接上日本吉野櫻的植種方式，使得此處櫻花呈現淡粉色的優美花景，點點緋櫻伴隨春天氣息，每年都吸引大量想一親芳澤的遊客前來。
