Timgad is an ancient Roman city located to the north of the massif of the Aurès, Algeria. It is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Founded by the emperor Trajan in AD 100, it was created ex nihilo as a military colony. Panorama taken near the Arc of Trajan (east side).
