永安區石斑魚產量佔全國產量約四分之一，年產值約新台幣20億元，素有「石斑魚的故鄉」之稱。永安休閒公園於2005年完工啟用，以石斑魚意象為設計主題，包括魚鱗風格的拼石廣場、石斑魚造型的舞台及柱頂，以及透過魚鰭、魚尾串連兒童攀岩區、溜冰場、籃球場等運動遊憩設施，充分展現在地文化意涵。公園周邊有養殖魚塭、小型濕地、紅樹林及伴生植物等，永安休閒公園儼然是一處展現永安區在地生活縮影的代表作。
