The Lake is located in the northeast of Eryuan County, Dali, Yunnan province, about 3 kilometers away from Eryuan County, 73 kilometers to the north of Dali, and 58 kilometers to the south of Shibao Mountain Scenic Area in Jianchuan. Supported by mountains in the east and north, connected by fields in the southwest and long and narrow in the north and south, it is a natural fresh water lake formed in the karst depression of the plateau. It is one of the main lakes in the upper reaches of Erhai Lake and also the source of Erhai Lake.
